Epic Games, the engine behind titles like Fortnite and Infinity Blade, is giving away free games for the next four weeks.

This isn’t the first time the company has provided fans access to games free of charge, but this time around, Epic Games is offering up something special. The brand has created the all-new Epic Games Store vault, which will open up to reveal each of these games starting today.

The first of the weekly drops is Grand Theft Auto V, the 2013 action-adventure game by Rockstar Games, which will be free on PC until May 21.

The open world design lets players freely roam San Andreas’ countryside and the fictional city of Los Santos — based on Los Angeles — in their efforts to commit heists.

Gamers dressing up in alien suits to represent different gangs in the game has led to a slew of creative TikToks and memes, making #greenvspurple one of the fastest-growing hashtags ever on the social media platform.

Grand Theft Auto V will be free on PC through May 21. Download it now and keep it forever through Epic Games’ website.

According To The City

Update – Local News

Will the street go back to being as busy as it once was?

Article Featured Image

In past summers, the number of people walking in and out of stores on Sainte-Catherine slowly begins to multiply around this time of year.

As it stands right now, retail stores on Sainte-Catherine, along with everywhere else in Greater Montreal, that have their own outside entrancesare expected to reopen as of May 25.

This is in line with the date given by the Government of Quebec’s gradual reopening of retail stores in the Greater Montreal area, which has already been pushed back twice.

The questions focused on Sainte-Catherine street, but the majority of the answers are fitting for any highly occupied street in Montreal.

What can Montrealers expect if stores on Sainte-Catherine start opening up again as of May 25?

In terms of traffic, the few examples of cities around the world that have already allowed the reopening of businesses to show a relatively slow return of customers. Montrealers could experience a similar situation.

Since teleworking will probably be the preferred method for the next several weeks, a large proportion of downtown workers will not be back in the short term, which will limit business traffic and allow us all to get used to our new reality.

Will the street be heavily monitored by police to ensure social distancing?

High-density commercial roads, such as rue Sainte-Catherine, avenue Mont-Royal, or rue Saint-Laurent, will require special attention to ensure that people are physically distanced from one another.

Do you think things will simply go back to the way they were in regards to how busy Sainte-Catherine usually is? If not, what will be the main changes being made on the street?

Managing traffic inside businesses could lead to line-ups on public property (sidewalks).

Montreal is putting in place measures to increase the capacity of the public domain, including the implementation of sanitary corridors.

Will stores be forced to reopen once the government gives the ok, or will each store get to decide their own reopening date?

No business will be forced to resume operations.

Facebook has announced plans to build a massive 37,000-kilometer undersea cable around Africa in an effort to increase the continent’s internet connectivity, as detailed in a blog post by the company this week.

The cable will be “nearly equal to the circumference of the Earth” according to Facebook and will interconnect 23 countries across Africa, the Middle East and Europe once complete.

Facebook said “Africa currently has approximately 1.3 billion residents, yet it is one of the “least connected” regions in the world as the tech giant notes. “We are committed to bringing more people online to a faster internet — and with 3.5 billion people globally unconnected, there is still a lot to do.”

The company has partnered with various global network providers for the project — which is dubbed 2Africa — including China Mobile, MTN of South Africa, France’s Orange and Britain’s Vodafone.

Nelly and Ludacris’ Verzuz: The most unforgettable moments

Update – Music Battle

Nelly and Ludacris

Another dangerously anticipated Verzuz battle dropped anchor on Saturday (May 16) with none other than two leading rap voices of the early 2000s: Ludacris and Nelly.

The clash of the two first peaked the internet’s nostalgic interests when Swizz Beatz and Timbaland announced the battle last Tuesday (May 12). The competition was stiff as fans struggled to decide who would come out on top between the St. Lunatics midwest slick twang spitter and the Disturbing Tha Peace bass-crusher.

Thus, the nearly half a million viewership lapped up every bit of the battle Nelly and Luda had to offer from their deep-fried, countrified classics of their 2000 debuts all the way through 2013. Here are some of the most memorable moments from Saturday’s iconic showdown of the south:

1. Black Twitter’s ‘Nelly Riley’ uproar

Harking back to Teddy Riley’s Verzuz battle complications, now notoriously recognized as the official trademark for livestream hiccups everywhere, fans held no bars on Nelly. He eventually resolved his WiFi connectivity issues, but not before Black Twitter added “Nelly Riley” to his list of Hollywood nicknames.

2. Luda previewing an unreleased track with Lil Wayne

At one point, while waiting for Nelly’s WIFI to act right, Luda decided to debut a brand new song that he has with Lil Wayne, which Timbaland just so happened to produce. “The world crazy, n**gas pouring drinks like Cliff Huxtable/ I love R. Kelly, but around my daughters, I am not comfortable,” Luda said during the beginning of the unreleased track. “Racist people still drinking whatever’s in Rosanne’s bar.”

3. Luda and Nelly’s 2000 debut song match-up

Luda and Nelly’s breakout year materialized two of the culture’s most time-honored 2000 hits: “What’s Your Fantasy” and “Country Grammar.” While Nelly’s title track from his debut album of the same name helped him nab a diamond-certified project, Luda’s single flipped the culture on its head and was named as one of VH1’s Greatest Songs of Hip-Hop.
