Montreal Transit !!!

Your daily commute is about to get more expensive starting this Monday. The ARTM is implementing a three per cent average price hike for public transit across the metropolitan region on July 1. Regular monthly All Modes passes will jump by $5.50, while bus only monthly passes are set to increase by $4.75. Discounted monthly rates will also see a rise between $3 and $3.25 depending on the service. South Shore commuters should note that transitional REM fares are being scrapped, meaning an All Modes ticket is now mandatory for those connecting to buses. Single and two trip tickets are the only rates staying at their current prices for now. Officials state these adjustments are necessary to keep the transit network sustainable and affordable for the long term.

Charges against Geoffrey Wall

In June 2026, Peel Regional Police announced charges against Geoffrey Wall, a 59-year-old former Air Canada captain from Barrie, Ontario, following a four-month fraud and forgery investigation named “Project Icarus.”

Wall is accused of commanding more than 900 domestic and international flights over a 16-year period without holding the mandatory Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL-A) required to act as pilot-in-command of large commercial airliners.
