Call of Duty: WWII

Update –

'Call of Duty: WWII' Will Be Free to Play for PlayStation Plus Owners Tomorrow

Sony has announced one of its monthly free games for PlayStation Plus players in June will be Call of Duty: WWII.

In 2017, Call of Duty’s WWII title first appeared as a holiday release, from Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision.

Players and reviewers have praised the game for its return to the roots of Call of Duty, where previous titles like Advanced Warfare and Black Ops 4 were given mixed reviews for their fantastic, futuristic and ultimately too complex and un-relatable storylines and mechanics.

WWII of course is based during the harrowing years of World War II, where you control Ronald “Red” Daniels within the 1st Infantry Division in the European theatre.

Multiplayer-wise, the game balanced small maps and weapons with straight forward progression alongside Divisions that allowed for diversity in characters and abilities in lieu of the Create-A-Class system.

WWII will be available for PlayStation Plus members as a free download to play starting May 26.

Free game has yet to be announced, but is expected to be available first week of June. In more Call of Duty news, Captain Price is slated to return to battle for Season 4 of Modern Warfare.
