Nobody was on the street or sidewalk when a concrete slab fell off a building on René-Lévesque Blvd. W. Friday evening, said a spokesman for the Montreal fire department.
No one was hurt.
The owner was at the scene and firefighters responded, later departing at about 9:30 p.m., he said.
The office building belongs to Groupe Mach, owned by real-estate mogul Vincent Chiara.
In 2009, a chunk of concrete fell from the 18th floor of a hotel on Peel St., killing a 33-year-old woman who had been celebrating her birthday with her husband on a glass-covered restaurant terrasse below.
