Iran’s rial

Iran’s rial has fallen to record lows against the US dollar, with open market rates reported at roughly 1.25–1.3 million rials per $1.

At that level, a single rial is worth such a tiny fraction of a cent that currency converters often round it to “$0.00,” underscoring the severity of inflation and economic strain.

“Asake, The Law is the Law”

Asake paid a visit to President Mahama, during which the President realized that he was the artiste connected to a recent incident in Accra New Town.

Abubakari Sadick, popularly known as “Cyborg,” had fired multiple celebratory gunshots into the air as a gun salute to welcome and honor Asake during his tour of some neighborhoods. The incident later led to Cyborg’s arrest by the Ghana Police Service.

Asake attempted to appeal to the President over the matter, but President Mahama firmly stated that “the law is the law” and must take its course.

Canadians travelling to the U.K.

Canadians travelling to the U.K. will soon need advance permission to enter, even for short trips. Starting Feb. 25, 2026, the U.K. will strictly enforce its Electronic Travel Authorization requirement for visitors from visa-exempt countries, including Canada.

Travelers will need to apply online or through an app, submit biometric information, and pay a £16 fee to visit for up to six months. The U.K. government says the move is aimed at tightening border security and modernizing immigration checks.
